A Thanksgiving Prayer
Growing up in the depression, my parents, Ruth and Luke Golden, instilled in me and my brother and sister to be thankful everyday for life, health and for our many blessings. My mother, Ruth Golden, wrote a poem that I would like to share with you that says it best.
A Thanksgiving Prayer
by: Ruth Golden Our Father, we thank You for the food we eat
And for the extra we have to share
We thank You for our health and strength
For the warm clothes we have to wear
We thank You for our many friends
For each one in our family, too
We Pray You will protect them, Lord
And draw them close to You
We thank You, Lord for the blessings of life
For Your mercy and Your love
For joy and peace and the happiness
That comes down from heaven above
So, at this special time of year
As we bow our heads to pray
We thank You, Father that we can be together
On this Thanksgiving Day.
