Rove and Oaks at Hostfest
Sept. 30 - U.S. political consultant, Carl Rove, joined the Oak Ridge Boys on their bus today, before their performance at the Norsk Hostfest in Minot, North Dakota. The boys enjoyed catching up with their friend before the matinee performance. The Oaks are appearing at the Scandinavian festival from today until Sat. Oct. 3rd.
To answer the many questions we have received after our email, here is a little description of the Hostfest. The Oaks have appeared in the festival many times over the years. Joe Bonsall, Duane Allen, William Lee Golden and Richard Sterban have a love for the Scandinavian people and have enjoyed touring Norway, Holland, Sweden and Denmark. In fact, William shared an apartment in Hendersonville for many years with close friend and Scandinavian concert promoter Christer Hamrin. Christer recently visited Golden at his home in Hendersonville to catch up.
Norsk Høstfest, North America’s largest Scandinavian Festival, is celebrating its 32th year, starting the evening of September 29 - October 3. Tens of thousands of people attend the event annually to celebrate and partake in the Scandinavian culture and entertainment.
