There was a return trip to St. John for The Golden Family vacation in January of 2009. It was a last minute decision that William made after finishing a painting of "Trunk Bay." The painting is absolutely beautiful and depicts a scene that William Lee took a photo of during our visit in 2008. We rented the same Stone House from Mr. Lloyd. This year just the three of us left the house before dawn to catch the plane for St. Thomas and then a ferry to St. John.

The weather could not have been nicer. It was below 10 degrees in Tennessee when we left and remained in the high 80's in St. John during our time there. I am so thankful we have the opportunity to have a hot family vacation in the dead of Winter. During the Summer months when most families take their yearly holiday, The Oaks are really busy. January is held out for the guys and their family. So we head to where it feels like Summer.

After several days of sunning by the pool and on the beach, our very dear friends, TG Sheppard and his wife, Kelly Lang-Sheppard joined us. Here are some photos of our time in the islands.
